Cathay Pacific First Class SIN-HKG-LAX

Thursday 3rd October – the time has come to be reunited with my family. The trip begins with the usual positioning flight to Singapore via AirAsia:

The customary Starbucks stop happens because there is nothing airside at KIA’s international section. This is before the usual morning AirAsia hop over to the isle of Singapore.

Arrived at Changi’s Terminal 4, retrieved my luggage and checked through everything to LAX. It was a long 5 hour transit at the CX Lounge:

There was a 35 minute delay in boarding our SIN-HKG flight:

The chicken rice was surprisingly good:

Arrived in HKG and found out that we were departing from Gate 3 tonight which means the lounge of choice was The Wing:

Boarding was 11:25PM but I was already falling asleep in the lounge. Note to self: no more lounge safaris/long transits.

Changed into my pyjamas immediately after boarding:

Told the FA to serve my pre-booked Cathay Signature meal after I woke up from sleep.

CX F’s bed is still the best for me. The turbulence however meant that I kept waking up throughout.

The wok-fried seafood rice in lobster broth was very nice:

Went back to sleep, woke up 2 hours before landing for my Krug breakfast:

Cathay Pacific First Class is an old time favourite. However, it has fallen behind. Competitors have introduced all-enclosing suites in the air. They also offer extravagant lounges on the ground for a seamless, first-class experience.
