Emirates First Class LAX-DXB-KUL

The flight home would be on Emirates First Class. The first LAX-DXB sector will be on the wonderful A380 followed by the 777-300ER to KL.

Convinced Mum to let me take a Uber to LAX to save everyone the hassle:

Emirates Lounge will be the best business class lounge in the world by far (except when you’re travelling in F of course):

I left the lounge around T-50 and made my way to the gate. Before long I have settled in Suite 1A:

What followed was one of the best flights I have ever flown. I relaxed, watch movies, ate, drank and slept very well.

Asked for my bed to be made after dessert. The FA decided to remove my Globetrotter carry-on so as to ensure the bed when fully flat would not damage it:

Very comfortable 👍👍:

I had a good 6-7 hours of sleep and woke up feeling peckish. Decided to have a light breakfast:

An hour before arriving in Dubai I asked to have my shower:

There was an escort waiting for me on our arrival in Dubai. She led me all the way to the First Class Lounge in Terminal C:

I think I only saw 2 passengers in the entire lounge:

Made my way to the dining area:

Malindo/Batik Air had for some reason brought forward my connecting flight from KL to Kuching so I was still trying to see whether I could make it to avoid flying AirAsia but to no avail.

The scallops and salmon was very nice but I did not have time to properly enjoy it due to trying to rebook myself onto Malindo and boarding commencing (which was directly from the lounge).

It was the older 777-300 but still a fantastic ride for the short 6+ hour journey to KL. Went through the motions again:

Requested my bed to be done on the vacant suite next to 1A:

Approaching KL:

It was then a train ride to KLIA2 (aka LCCT aka shopping mall disguised as an airport) and an unbearable 1h 45m on the emergency row of AirAsia next to a similarly built chap dozing off towards my side.

Other than my positioning flight to Singapore I do not see myself flying AirAsia ever again. Period.
