First Class from Borneo

The trip began with the usual AirAsia positioning flight to Singapore in the morning with the obligatory stop at Starbucks at Kuching International Airport:

It is a joy to transit through Singapore:

Had a fantastic lunch at Dian Xiao Er:

Went down to the city to pick this up:

Before returning to my day room at Yotel:

Made my way to the check-in counter at T2 where a surly staff questioned which class I was travelling in before attending to my request for printed boarding passes. Off to the Silverkris First Class lounge:

Headed to the gate where boarding was delayed for about 20 minutes before finding my way to 1A:

Requested the FA to make my bed as soon as possible after take-off and save a serve of caviar for me when I wake up. Note to self – do not choose midnight departure with a long layover again!

The flight itself was extremely turbulent, did not sleep well at all. Kept waking up and questioning my sanity in booking such a routing all for the sake of my FCT duck!

Had a light breakfast around 2 hours before landing:

Told the escort I wanted to go to the FCT instead of the FCL and she led me through the motions (though she could only show me to the exit of the main terminal and I had to make my own way from there).

First thing upon arriving at the FCT was a long awaited shower:

Checked out the lounging area:

and settled into one of the private workrooms:

Before long it was time to board my flight to LA:

I had a much better experience on this sector and managed a good 5 hours of sound sleep.
