When Etihad deployed its A380 on its Singapore route I knew I will be flying the Residence. Prior to that there was no palatable way to reach AUH from Kuching ever since EY dropped First Class for flights to/from Singapore.
I was greeted by an airline representative the minute I disembarked from my EY Apartment flight from Singapore and ushered into a buggy (much to the chagrin of a few fellow Apartment fliers who had to endure the long trek to immigration clearance),

I was escorted to the First Class Lounge and one of the VIP rooms.

I had a much needed shower and a nap before ordering some food to eat before my flight.

Boarding time came and I chose to be the first to board:

I chose to eat in the living room:

Watched Gladiator 2 in bed:

Had a great sleep before a quick shower prior to arrival in Heathrow.
I paid around RM9.5k for the single sector upgrade. No reason to upgrade the SIN-AUH sector due to lack of a proper lounge in Changi and I also wanted to fly EY Apartment again.
Will probably fly Residence again as a couple for the novelty.
