Etihad Apartments SIN-AUH

Spring holidays are here so it’s time to reunite with the kids. Routing this time will be SIN-AUH-LHR-LAX simply because Etihad has deployed its A380 for Singapore routes 🙂

I was attending a wedding ceremony in SIbu the night before departure. The flight from SIbu back to Kuching was delayed for hours due to heavy rain. I managed to book an alternate flight and made it back to Kuching on time.

The usual AirAsia positioning flight in the morning:

I had around 7 hours to spend in Singapore before my evening flight. Booked myself a lunch at the 1 Michelin-starred Candlenut

Candlenut dining area
Candlenut ah-ma-kase (ok quite funny)

I did not find anything special or elevated about the dishes. At nearly SGD150 I expected a lot more and left slightly disappointed.

Headed back to Changi airport and went through the motions. Had a bit of a scare during check-in when they could not find my Residence AUH-LHR sector but everything was sorted out in due course.

I left the contract lounge really early and could not wait to board the plane. It has been some time since my last EY Apartment flight.

Take-off was on time and we were on our way to Abu Dhabi (and my first Residence flight experience).

The bed was as narrow and hard as I had remembered. Managed a few hours of sleep in preparation for my Residence flight.
